The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has described the appointment of Princess Oladunni Odu as appropriate reward for unalloyed loyalty and sacrifice.
This was made known in a statement made available to journalists on Thursday by the Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Alex Kalejaye.
According to the statement, the party also views the crop of personalities so far appointed into the government as a positive indicator that the unquantifiable achievements of the Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, led administration in the first term would be a child’s play, when compared with what to expect in the second term.
“Ondo APC hails the uncanny ability of the Governor to fish out some of the best within the fold to man strategic positions, in the interest of efficient running of government, and greater service delivery.
“The party recalls that Princess Odu was about the first chieftain who invaded the party secretariat with thousands of vests and face caps, in support of Akeredolu’s re-election campaign last year. She equally attached to the items logistics for distribution to all local government areas.”
“Besides organising mini-parties for party members every fortnightly in Okitipupa, to constantly identify with them and promote love for the party, she renders assistance consistently to sustain the party in the area.”
“On the loyalty front, the newly appointed Secretary to the Ondo State Government roundly rejected every entreaty by the anti- Akeredolu group, to lead the said group to the powers that be, and push against the reelection project.”
“In addition to being passionate about party development and unity, Odu has always been a performer in all the political offices she has presided over, the recent being the State Universal Basic Education Board, where she left unrivalled mark.”
The party further stated that “without dispute, she is a political jewel to treasure; rich in intellectual equipment, deeply entrenched, versatile, organised, sophisticated, yet humble. We have no doubts that you will positively influence, and activate so many things in government, to the benefits of the state.”
“The party felicitates with Princess Odu on this political elevation and assignment. We remind her that the task ahead are herculean, but convinced she would draw from her academic equipment and wealth of experience to weather the storm.”
