The Ondo State Government has said that it would improve on its revenue generation from tourism by putting into good use the Idanre hills in the state.
Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, made this remark on Monday in Akure when the Owa of Idanre, Oba Frederick Aroloye led his Chiefs on a courtesy visit to him in his office.
Akeredolu said that Idanre hill tourist site was a very important project to his government.
He said the hills would be put to good use to showcase the state to the world and, by extension, increase the revenue accruable to the government coffers.
Akeredolu directed Mr Yemi Olowolabi, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism to do all within his capacity to get investors to Idanre hills and the golf course at Alade, also in Idanre.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Olowolabi, an indigene of Idanre, was recently redeployed from the Ministry of Information to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Akeredolu also said that efforts had also been made to ensure that the cocoa factory project in Idanre be resuscitated.
He called on interested individuals and organisations to invest in the projects as the cocoa product from the state remained the best in the world.
Earlier, the traditional ruler thanked the governor for counting Idanre worthy of benefitting from the various people-driven projects of his government.
The monarch called on Akeredolu to revive the Idanre hills, the cocoa factory project and the Idanre golf course, among others.
