In the quest to solve the lingering unpaid salaries of workers in Ondo State owned Tertiary Institutions, the workers have resolved to a spiritual means over their unpaid salaries.

The workers under the aegis of Joint Action Committee (JAC), including SSANU, NASU, NAAT and SSANIP made the decision after an emergency meeting held on Tuesday at the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa.

The decision extract of the meeting as obtained by KaftanPost correspondent and signed by the Secretary of the Joint Action Committee (JAC), Comrade Peter Akindehinde, reads, “Mmbers are informed that Tuesday, 1st December, 2020 has been declared a day of fasting and prayer”.

While highlighting the reason for its decision, the document further stated, “This is not unconnected with unpaid salaries, deductions and other allowances.

“Members are to observe the fasting and prayer in line with their belief and gather at noon to offer prayers.”

The statement however ended with; “God, the owner of the universe will intervene in their plight.”

It would be recalled that the unpaid salaries in the state tertiary institutions has recently called for concerns among the key stakeholders and Labour Union within the state.

KaftanPost correspondent reliably gathered that workers in the state owned University in Akungba Akoko for instance are being owed not less than 5 months salary arrears.
