Oscars: Actress Stephaine Linus becomes NOSC chairperson

Nollywood actress, Stephanie Okereke Linus, has been appointed as the chairperson of the Nigerian Official Selection Committee, NOSC, for the Best International Feature Film category of the prestigious Academy Awards, Oscars.

The committee made the announcement shortly after its founder, Chineze Anyaene-Abonyi, stepped down officially from the post.

Chineze’s resignation was announced a few hours ago after she secured the Oscars’ re-approval for the award’s 96th edition.

Stephaine’s appointment is also followed with the approval of the formation of a restructured 14-member NOSC team by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, AMPAS.

Part of the list includes the Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC), Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, veteran Nollywood actress, Omotola Jolade-Ekeinde, the President of the Directors’ Guild of Nigeria (DGN), Dr. Victor Okhai, former President of DGN, Mr. Andy Amenechi, theater practitioner, Yibo Koko, writer & director, Izu Ojukwu.
