Following nine months of intensive investigation, the alleged killers of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, the daughter of the leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti have been reportedly apprehended.
In a statement made available to Kaftan Post, through a foremost chieftain and spokesperson of the pan-sociocultural group, The Afenifere, Mr. Yinka Odumakinwa says, “The men of the Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad (SQUAD) made the arrest and the suspects are in Lagos. The driver who was earlier released by the Police was today detained by SARS as well”.
While Kaftan correspondence spoke with the Ondo Police PRO over the phone to confirm the authenticity of the report, it was however denied that such arrest were made.
The Ondo PPRO however promised to give a feedback on verifiable information arising from the case as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, a further investigation from Mr. Yinka Odumakinwa, an eye-witness at the Lagos office of the SARS revealed that
all the four suspects are male, three of whom appear to have hailed far from the scene of the alleged crime and do not speak the language of the area.
In his words, “the men have given useful information to the Police after some interrogations”.
Yinka Odumakin however saluted the courage and efforts of the Nigeria Police at the arrest made so far, urging them to see to it that the suspects are finally brought to book after being found culpable.
It will be noted that this is coming after nine months of deep investigations into the matter by the Nigerian Police.
Our correspondence was however yet to get a feedback from the Ondo State Police PRO as at the time of filing this report.
It would be recalled that the victim, Mrs Funke Olakunrin, the only surviving daughter of Chief Reuben Fasoranti was murdered by unknown men suspected to be bandits on Friday 12th July along Ore-Ijebu-Ode road.
She was aged 58 until her untimely death and survived by her husband, Children, siblings and her aged 93-year-old father.
