A month after the horrible killing of a prominent Akure-based caterer in Ondo State, Debbie Adene, her driver, who allegedly assisted in the murder, has been detained by the police.
The motorist, whose name had still to be published by the authorities, had been on the run since committing the crime in August 2024.
The late Adene was murdered in her house on July 25, 2024, on Oda Road by the driver and her 17-year-old personal helper, Philip Emmanuel, just after celebrating her 54th birthday.

The driver, who belongs from Idanre, was alleged to be the brains behind the horrible killing.
The personal assistant, who had since been arrested and paraded at the offices of the State Police Command, admitted that the money and gifts handed to the deceased during the birthday celebration led them take the decision to kill her in order to steal the money.
Emmanuel, who is currently facing murder accusations, had already been held at Olokuta Correctional Centre, pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, DPP.
