Qatar 2022: CAF extols Senegal coach, Cisse over historic feat

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has hailed Senegal head coach, Aliou Cisse following his team’s victory against hosts Qatar on Friday.

The Terangha Lions defeated Qatar 3-1, to record their first win in the competition and the first by an African nation in the tournament.

Cisse, in the process, made history as the first-ever African manager to win two FIFA World Cup games.

CAF took to social media to eulogize the former Senegal captain.

The win boosted the West Africans chances of qualifying for the Round of 16 as a victory in their last group game against Ecuador would guarantee them a place in the second round.
