Rapper ASAP Rocky to face trial over shooting charges

American rapper, Rakim Mayers, also known as ASAP Rocky is set to stand trial on charges in an alleged shooting incident of his former childhood friend, Terell Ephron.

The rapper faces jail term as the court has commenced the proceedings of the two-year-old incident.

It was confirmed during the second day of the hearing that the rapper will be put on trial for firing a pistol during an altercation between himself and his friend.

The altercation had left the friend with minor injuries. ASAP Rocky had entered a plea of not guilty.

A viral video also have been released to the public showing a silhouette of someone who looks similar to the rapper and the friend in the altercation.

In the video, the rapper was allegedly seen with the pistol in his hand hiding behind his back during the altercation.

The father of two is now faced with two felony counts of assault with a firearm. He would face at least nine years in prison if found guilty.
