Singer Tems loses Oscars award

Factual Pursuit of Truth for Progress

Fans of Afrobeat star, Tems and international singer, Rihanna, are upset following their major loss at the Oscars.

The duo who were nominated in the category lost the award to M.M. Keeravanni and Chandrabose’s RRR song ‘Naatu Naatu’.

Earlier before the award was presented, Rihanna had made a comeback on the stage after her Super Bowl performance, with her latest single ‘Lift Me Up’.

She had performed in a black outfit showing her baby bump proudly. She had a dazzling performance for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hit song.

Fans are more upset considering Naatu Naatu equally won the Best Original Song category at the Golden Globe Award.

Their competitors Diane Warren, Lady Gaga, and Ryan Lott also lost the category.

This would have been a huge win for the two singers as they would have been the first Black females born outside of the United States to capture the golden statuette. Both who are Grammy winners would have made it to the EGOT status.
