It’s no news that a certain Nollywood actress has been making waves on the internet for some hours now over a recent discovery concerning her new marriage.
The controversy, which had started a few weeks ago, is still making headlines. The actress was accused of ‘snatching’ a married man from his ‘peaceful’ home.
Infidelity seems to be the new craze in town as many are accustomed to the act, especially celebrities.
Many celebrities in the past have been accused of the same act of snatching spouses and destroying homes. In most cases, they end up as the second wife or installed as the first lady.
This trend is quite outrageous. However, it’s not surprising to see many Nigerians unbothered by the ugly trend.
Here are celebrities who have been allegedly accused of destroying homes over the years.
Mercy Johnson
The melanin queen, whose blessings are worthy of emulation and prayers, was once in a mess over her marriage to Prince Okojie. Mercy was allegedly accused of pushing her now husband to divorcing his ex-wife, Lovely, a marriage which produced two lovely children.
Although, no story of infidelity surfaced over the scandal, but reports claimed that Prince was still legally married to Lovely when he was shuttling Toronto and Nigeria, where he met Mercy. The popular actress and Prince have stood the test of time in their marriage and are blessed with four children.
Seyi Edun
The Yoruba actress has been in a similar scandal. News broke years ago about a possible infidelity leading to Toyin Abraham’s failed marriage to Niyi Johnson. Sources claimed Seyi allegedly lured Niyi and Toyin into a breakup. Sadly, their marriage didn’t produce a child before their divorce.
Seyi, in several interviews, had denied ever snatching Niyi from Toyin Abraham. Her husband had also reacted in several interviews, stating that Seyi used to follow him to a friend he started dating after his marriage with Toyin crashed. According to him, their relationship had started thereafter. Many people still find this claim hard to believe. Both parties have however moved on.
Nuella Njubigbo
The talented entrepreneur and Nollywood actress was also in a ‘snatching spouse’ mess. Nuella was accused by Tchidi Chikere’s first wife, Sophia, of infidelity.
Tchidi, who was married to Sophia, ended his marriage in 2012 after news broke about his affair with a colleague, Nuella. Shortly after that, Nuella got married to Tchidi in 2014 and they have a girl together.
Although some believe in a slow karma, it came pretty fast for their marriage. The couple went separate ways in 2021 after several attempts to mend their marriage and stay happy. Nuella seems to have moved on after she deleted everything related to her estranged husband on all her social media accounts.
Rosy Meurer
Rosy’s scandal is similar to Nuella’s. Rosy was accused by Tonto Dikeh, another actress, of infidelity. Tonto had made interviews revealing the affair between Rosy who was a personal assistant to her (Tonto) husband, Olakunle Churchill, at that time.
Tonto Dikeh divorced her husband and barely two years later, the secret affair progressed into a marriage between Rosy and Olakunle Churchill. They recently celebrated their son’s first birthday a few days ago. The couple has denied the affair. The lovebirds have publicly shared their love for each other on social media.
Mercy Aigbe
The leader of the clan, the Aya D’owner, the one whose ‘snatching’ and infidelity story is still a mystery. Mercy, who has been hiding the identity of her mystery man, finally shocked the world when she revealed her marital status and the man she tied the knot with.
Minutes after her revelation, the status of the man had surfaced, revealing a shady discovery. The man, Kazim Adeoti, is currently married to a woman named Funsho Adeoti. Although several reactions have been made concerning the marriage, Kazim’s wife had refused to react until hours ago when she shared her side of the story.
Funsho stated that Mercy was her friend and she had introduced her to Kazim.
A recent interview made by Kazim and Mercy had triggered the outburst from the first wife, Funsho, who claimed everything said in the interview is false.
Mercy took to her Instagram page to post a new photo, with an unbothered caption. Nigerians, as usual, have taken to the comment section of the first wife to praise her for her endurance and composure.
Ruggedman
Afrobeat rapper, Michael Ugochukwu Stephens also known as Ruggedman, was accused by Abolore Adigun also known as 9ice, for sleeping with his first wife, Toni Payne.
According to sources, 9ice caught them in the act and that led to the divorce. Although none of the artistes have talked about it ever since the scandal broke, Toni has clarified things.
Toni claimed she didn’t cheat on 9ice when they were married. Although the reason for their divorce is unknown, many believed 9ice was truthful.
