The Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated the Egyptian national team by 1-0 on Tuesday evening, thanks to the 30th minute strike by Kelechi Iheanacho.

Iheanacho’s goal hands coach Augustine Eguavoen his first victory in the biennial tournament in Cameroon.

Nigeria started the brighter team with so much dominance and in the second half, they maintained their grip though wasted goal-scoring opportunities.

Egypt’s captain Mo Sallah was silent throughout the match managing only a shot at goal.

The Super Eagles will take on Sudan in the next match on Saturday as group D leaders.
