Former Big Brother Naija Reality TV star and serial entrepreneur, Natacha Anita Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has slammed those criticising River State Governor, Nyesom Wike, for gifting Burna Boy money and a piece of land.
Recall that the artist, Burna Boy, was celebrated and hosted by the Rivers government for his Grammy win on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
He was also presented with a piece of land and N10m, with the governor also promising to give N10m each to artists performing at Burna Boy’s concert.
However, the decision made by the state government didn’t sit well with some who felt the governor was doing too much, yet neglecting the state needs.
Tacha, an indigiene of the state, slammed those condemning the governor’s actions, adding that Burna Boy deserved more than the prizes given to him.
She said that a street should be named after the artist because of the glory he has brought to the state considering the current condition of Rivers.
In a video posted on her Twitter account, she said, “I’m not a fan of Governor Wike because he hasn’t done much for the people but you all are mad to think what Wike did for Burna Boy yesterday was unnecessary.
“For Wike to give Burna boy a land, N10m and you people think it’s too much you’re crazy.
“You think going mainstream from Port Harcourt is easy? You guys have no idea the level of work PH City Entertainers have to put in to be recognised.
“You all have no idea how dry and dead entertainment has become in Rivers State and just this once! Just this once.
“Burna deserves a whole town named after him for winning the Grammy, do you think it’s one interstate award? Do you think it’s just one award like that.
“He should even have a public holiday dedicated to him.”
