The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday upheld the election of Governor Nasir Idris as the duly elected governor of Kebbi State.
The tribunal chaired by Justice Ofem I. Ofem gave the judgement on Thursday.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Idris of the All Progressives Congress, APC winner of the March 18 gubernatorial election.
However, General Aminu Bande (retd) of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP had filed a 722-page petition challenging the election of Governor Idris in the March 18 poll.
In it’s judgement, the tribunal squashed the prayers by the PDP and it’s candidate for lacking merit.
