A supporter of President Donald Trump in Marple Township, Pennsylvania, Bruce Bartman, 70, has been charged with voting for the president under the name of his deceased mother.

This was announced by the Delaware County District Attorney, Jack Stollsteimer, on Monday.

Bruce Bartman allegedly registered his deceased mother and mother-in-law to vote using Pennsylvania’s online voter registration portal, both as Republicans and subsequently requested and returned an absentee ballot on behalf of his late mother.

The Trump supporter, who is a lawyer later confessed to casting a ballot on behalf of his mother, the district attorney’s office said in a statement.

Delaware County D.A. Jack Stollsteimer said, “For all the conspiracy theorists out there, this case today does not represent widespread voter fraud,” adding that Trump supporter “explained that he cast a vote in the name of his deceased mother to re-elect President Donald Trump.

Stollsteimer said, “the case was an isolated incident and the only instance of voter fraud the county found after following up on “hundreds” of tips.

However, the 70-year-old Bartman faces a maximum of 19 years in prison, and his lawyer, Samuel Stretton, said he hopes his client receives probation.

“He was totally wrong in doing that and he’s accepted full and complete responsibility,” Stretton said.

Bartman’s arraignment is similar to a case to a Republican man in Forty Fort, Pennsylvania, who was charged in October for similarly filling out an absentee ballot application on behalf of his deceased mother.

Another registered Republican in Chester County, Pennsylvania, was also charged for casting a ballot in person in the November election and then returning to his polling place with sunglasses on in an attempt to disguise himself and vote on behalf of his son.

Meanwhile, Trump campaign and allies like attorney Sidney Powell have continued to allege rampant voter fraud in the November election in Pennsylvania, as part of an effort to overturn Biden’s victory.
