A Turkish football club, Trabzonspor, on Tuesday terminated its contract with a former captain of the Super Eagles, Mikel Obi, following his refusal to play for the club against Basaksehir on Sunday, March 16 amid Coronavirus scare.

Mikel Obi had last week, insisted he will not be toying with his life by playing for his club, wondering why the Turkish League will still be on when all other football leagues in Europe are suspended.
