UCL: Madrid seal Chelsea exit as Chukwueze’s winner knocks Bayern out

Real Madrid have dumped Chelsea out of the Champions League after despite a 3-2 defeat at the Bernabeu on Tuesday night.

Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea, trailing 3-1 after the first game at Stamford Bridge, turned the quarter-final on its head with goals from Mason Mount, Antonio Ruediger and Timo Werner.

But Rodrygo’s 80th-minute volley forced an added half an hour, and Benzema headed home to grab a 5-4 aggregate triumph for 13-time European champions Real.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles forward, Samuel Chukwueze scored a late goal to end Bayern Munich’s hopes of advancing in the Champions League.

The German side thought the game was heading to extra time when Chukwueze scored in the 88th minute to silence the home crowd, bringing the scoreline to 1-1 in the second leg clash.

Having won 1-0 in Spain, Chukwueze’s Villarreal successfully sealed a 2-1 aggregate victory in the last-eight tie, and are now into the semifinals of the competition.
