Mr Wale Adedayo, Ogun born politician and the purported author of a widely circulated posthumous criticism of the late Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari has vehemently denied authorship of the excoriating diatribe, blaming mischievous elements for its composition and circulation with the intent to use same against him to thwart his political ambitions.

This denial arose from an inquiry by KAFTAN POST wanting to know from the purported author the basis and facts behind the story narrated in the writeup and the critical commentary laid out by the author against the late Chief of Staff to the President

In a written tribute to Abba Kyari, who died in Lagos on April 17th after contacting Covid-19, President Muhammadu Buhari told of how his “dearest friend” of more than 40 years tried to improve governance and reduce corruption in Africa’s most populous country. He was “the very best of us”, wrote the President.

That’s who Abba Kyari was to Mr. President; ”the very best of Nigerians”, contrary to opinion held by most Nigerians like Wale Adedayo.

In an article titled “SOMETIMES, YOU TELL THE DEAD THE TRUTH, EVEN WHEN THEY CAN’T HEAR YOU”, written by Wale Adedayo, on April 26, 2020, circulated on the social media. He said; “Wickedness is the worst virtue any man can have. I am putting this out here because I know most of us don’t know this gist”.

According to Wale Adedayo, there was a misunderstanding between the then Minister of Health Isaac Adewole and Abba Kyari, two years ago and Abba Kyari who was then the Chief of Staff wanted to control the activities of the Health Ministry but the Minister wouldn’t allow him, so Abba Kyari, as the de facto President, decided to teach the Minister a bitter lesson. He stripped the Health Ministry of its powers to purchase anything; bear in mind that the Ministry of Health is responsible for purchasing and distributing medical equipments, hospital supplies and drugs amongst Government owned hospitals such as General Hospitals and University Teaching hospitals.

Abba Kyari also immediately mandated the Federal Ministry of Health to henceforth, approach the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, should they need to ever buy anything or procure anything for all the hospitals and government-owned health centers in Nigeria.

SACRILEGIOUS!!!!!!

But when KAFTAN POST, contacted Mr. Wale Adedayo to know the authenticity of his investigation, ADEDAYO DENIED AUTHORSHIP OF THE ARTICLE, SAYING “IT’S FAKE AND MISCHIEVOUS.” He says the article was not written by him that someone used his name for the article, and that he had refuted it on his twitter handle.

Shocked by his response, Kaftan Post sought to know what he thought could be the ultimate motive of whoever wrote the article using his name. Adedayo said the publisher wants to smear his political ambition because he (Wale Adedayo) is contesting for his local government chairmanship seat in Ogun state, and that it was politically motivated.

KAFTAN POST, then sought to have an interview with him, to enable him have a rebuttal on TV. He agreed and scheduled Friday April 1st for the interview.

But when KAFTAN’s correspondent placed a call through to him on Friday, Mr. Adedayo said he was still at Ijebu-Igbo with Governor Abiodun, distributing palliatives. He then said he would be in Lagos unfailingly on Monday or Tuesday, that the interview should be done then.

By Monday morning, several calls were put through to ascertain the time and venue of the interview but Mr. Adedayo refused to answer the calls. KAFTAN’s curious and restless correspondent followed up with more calls in the evening, all to no avail. And this continued throughout Tuesday, still, Mr. Adedayo neither answered nor returned the calls.

Bent on getting to the root of the matter, KAFTAN’s correspondent made several frantic efforts, including contacting a couple of media friends to get other numbers with which to reach Wale Adedayo, but there was still no headway.

All attempts by KAFTAN TELEVISION News Director, Niyi Babade, to reach him also proved abortive as he refused to answer his calls throughout, either.

And many questions ran through my mind…

Why would Mr. Wale Adedayo suddenly stop taking calls from KAFTAN Television?

Is he evading or dodging the interview?

Could the write-up truly have emanated from him?

And if his findings and statements were factual, why would he not want to further educate the Nigeran masses on the issue by granting Television interviews, since he claimed to “know this gist” more than most Nigerians?

These are many questions begging for answers.
