The Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, says we have only one country, Nigeria.

Adebayo made this known when he paid a visit to Gumel Emirates in Jigawa State for the annual Gumel Durbar ‘Sallar Gani’ Festival to celebrate the Maulud – marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

According to the renowned lawyer, Sallar Gani is a celebration of gratitude to Allah and also a celebration of the common happiness of the people.

He noted that the cultural display seen at the North-western state is similar to that of his place of birth, hence a prove that the country is one with similar cultures.

The Presidential hopeful therefore noted that the SDP is integrated into the traditional system as it’s National Chairman, Alh. Shehu Gabam is also a traditional title holder

In his words “Coming here to celebrate with the people of the Emirate of Gumel is a sign that we have only one Nigeria and one people and when I came here I saw similarities in the culture from where I was born and our national chairman is a traditional title holder . So we are integrated into the traditional system and that we should realize that in this year of election, we should not forget our humanity that we are all human beings.

“The people of Gumel have shown that they can work very hard and what have been slowing them down is that they need a government that is committed to eradicating insecurity, that is committed to eradicating poverty and that is the message we have brought here.

” By the time we come back here next year, Insha Allah, we will be in government and you will see a lot of projects in this Emirates.”
