The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has denied reports that it already spent N1 billion to educate Nigerians via SMS about the novel coronavirus.
NCDC made this known in tweet on Thursday morning.
According to the health agency, the SMS is an in-kind support by Airtel, MTN and Glo.
“The headline claiming that NCDC has spent N1 billion on SMS to Nigerians is fake,” the tweet reads.
The NCDC, on Wednesday, confirmed 22 new cases of coronavirus in the country, taking the tally to 276.
