An unidentified woman has been shot inside the US Congress Chambers amidst the ongoing unrest between pro-Trump protesters and the police.
It is reported that the woman was shot in the chest and in critical condition as she is yet to be identified.
It however, appears she is a Trump supporter as protesters were seen rushing to help her and it is unclear who the shooter was.
Gunshots and teargas were heard in the building after a security bridge by the angry supporters who invaded the US Congress sitting and forced its suspension.
The sitting was to confirm Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election but Trump and his supporters have refused to concede defeat and want the victory upturned.
