The Eid-el-Fitr Sallah was celebrated on Sunday in Yobe peacefully with Muslim faithful attending various prayer grounds.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that there is no restriction of vehicular movement as was done in the past due to security challenges.

Some of the residents who spoke to NAN commended Gov. Mai Mala Buni for allowing prayers to be conducted on Eid grounds.

Alhaji Ali Usman, a Damaturu resident, said “this is the best Sallah we had in recent times because there is no restriction of movements as was done in the past.

“Vehicles were allowed to move, giving us the opportunity to transport our families to the prayer grounds,” Ali said.

Mr Bukar Mohammed, another resident, noted that Buni’s administration has been up and responsive to the needs of the people.

Malam Bala Audu, a resident of Sabon pegi in Damaturu, said some people used the Ramadan period to pray for the success of this people oriented government, because they listen to the yearnings of the people.

Buni had in a Sallah broadcast to the people urged them to pray for peace, unity and prosperity of the state and Nigeria at large.

He said his administration would continue to execute people oriented programmes and projects to improve the lives of the citizenry.
