Nollywood have mourned the loss of their own, Murphy Afolabi, who died on Sunday following a home accident in his bathroom.
Yoruba actors have all expressed their shock as the actor was seen celebrating a few of his colleagues on his social media and in person just days ago.
Actress Bimpe Akintunde who was in one of the recent posts stated how it would have been extremely painful for her if she hadn’t answered the deceased the last time they saw.
She stated how the actor wasn’t a perfect man yet he was the one who paved the way for her in the industry.
Bimpe also helped to pass information to their colleagues traveling into Lagos for the funeral.
Actor Yomi Fabiyi also paid his condolence on his page. He talked about the achievements of the actor before his death and how he will be missed.
While many are receiving praises for their concern about the dead, a few actors have received knocks for the way they reacted to the news.
Some fans called actress Iyabo Ojo out while she was on live supporting Hilda. The actress who was oblivious to the news of Murphy was out with her lover at Hilda’s cook-a-thon. She was called out and she quickly wrote a tribute to the deceased.
Another actor Kolawole Ajeyemi was heavily bashed for making a video with tears on his face over the news of the deceased actor. Some referred to the act as clout chasing while others called him out for his actions.
The remains of the actor have been buried at his home in Ikorodu, Lagos. Sources claimed that the remains were suggested to be buried at his hometown, Osogbo but the children of the late actor wanted their father home with the family.
The family head of Fetuata, Afolabi’s family in Osogbo, Yusuf Lateef, in an interview with the newsmen said, “We were initially planning to bury him here in Osogbo but his children insisted he should be buried in Lagos, where he resides with his family. We will be sending representatives to Lagos today.
