A member of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Ahmed, has been shot dead.
Ahmed was said to have been killed by bandits along Sheme-Funtua Road in neighbouring Katsina State.
The Clerk of the state assembly, Saidu Anka, confirmed the incident on Wednesday morning.
He, however, did not disclose details around the lawmaker’s death.
Ahmed’s demise comes hours after some key politicians in the state defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
