Presidential aspirant, Prince Adewole Adebayo, has finally ended speculations over his choice of political party by joining the Social Democratic Party.
Adebayo, a leading member of the Steering Committee of the National Consultative Front, on Thursday, registered at Ward 9 in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo state.
“Yesterday, my committed coalition of political parties and supporters were present as I registered with my flagship Social Democratic Party (SDP) at Ward 9, Ondo West LGA, Ondo State. Join the Charging White horse to victory!,” he wrote on Twitter.
Founded over three decades ago, the SDP is still considered one of the strongest political parties in the country.
During the Third Republic, it was seen as a moderate party attractive to young radical intellectuals and socialists.
And Adebayo, who is banking on the youths to end the All Progressives Congress and People’s Democratic Party’s hegemony, says he is confident of clinching the party’s presidential ticket.
“I welcome my committed coalition of political parties to join my Flagship SDP with the Charging White horse to victory come 2023 as am sure of winning the party primary,” he told reporters.
Adebayo had in a recent interview with The Sun Newspapers, said he chose the campaign slogan ” Hope Again 2023″ because of what the PDP government of Dr Goodluck Jonathan and the APC government of President Muhammadu Buhari has “done is to remove hope from the Nigerian people.”
