The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar has assured Nigerians that he will not allow Cabals to run his government if elected into power in 2023.

The former Vice President made this claim on Wednesday to take swipe at the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration that is alleged to be controlled by Cabals.

Recall that wife of the president, Aisha Buhari, had openly alleged that a cabal was controlling state affairs in Aso Rock, an allegation the president debunked in an interview with the VOA in 2019.

Vowing not to allow any cabal to detect the tune in the corridor of power if elected president, Atiku told the an Hausa radio station in an interview that he would run the show all through.

“You won’t find any cabal in my government. It is me: Waziri (Atiku) that will run the administration,” Atiku stating while fielding questions from Aliyu Mustapha Sokoto, the head of the Hausa Service of the VOA during an exclusive interview at the station in Washington.

Atiku told the VOA that in order to tackle the problem of insecurity, the overhaul of the constitution is imperative.

“We would confront this issue by convoking a constitutional review so that states and local governments, to whom we intend to give the imprimatur to run their security affairs, would be able to do so. But this requires a rejig of constitution.

“Before we embark on this, we intend to employ more boots on ground, especially in the area of policing and civil defence, all of which we want to equip properly,” Atiku said.

Meanwhile, the Director of Strategic Communications of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Momodu, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, cannot unite Nigerians.

Momodu in a statement on Wednesday, titled, “Atiku: APC’s Shettima Suffering From Amnesia – PDP Campaign Organisation,” expressed worry over what he described as an “open disdain for the democratic and voting rights of certain ethnic groups within their domains.”

Momodu said, “It is our belief that Alhaji Shettima, in a moment of deliberate amnesia, must have tried to point fingers at the specks in another man’s eyes while studiously ignoring the giant logs in his own eyes.”

He further stated, “It took almost forever for APC to achieve the simple task of constituting its Presidential Campaign Council, due to the total lack of unity in their party. It is very obvious that APC has become completely rudderless and many self-respecting members are jumping ship and being recovered by PDP.

“How can these APC candidates ever unite Nigerians when they’ve shown open disdain for the democratic and voting rights of certain ethnic groups within their domains?”
