The Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Prince Adewole Adebayo has promised to be the president of all Nigerians if elected into power in 2023.
He said this during an interactive sessions with presidential candidates organized by the Arewa Joint Committee in Kaduna on Monday.
Prince Adewole said the diversity in the Northern region has taught other parts of the country to be united.
The renowned lawyer added that a united country can be achieved if the policies of the nation’s founding fathers of equity, justice, truth and fairness are implemented.
Citing the uniqueness of Sir Ahmadu Bello, who hails from the Northern region, Prince Adebayo said “Sir Ahmadu Bello will not use a government car one hour after getting home. He will not travel on a Northern helicopter because he wants to go to his farm”
While noting that Sir Ahmadu Bello started his corruption fight from his cabinet, the SDP presidential hopeful promised to do same if voted in 2023.
According to him, Nigeria cannot be fixed without addressing the challenges of the North and whoever can fix the problem of the North is a friend of the region and a true Nigerian.
Prince Adewole therefore stressed that the Northern region is blessed with lands and resources which if properly utilized and managed, the poverty level of the region would be a thing of the past.
