Former Anambra State Governor and presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has received his certificate of return after emerging as the flagbearer for the 2023 polls.
This is coming after Jude Ezenwafor stepped down for the former governor as the presidential candidate of the Party.
Peter Obi received the certificate at the Labour Party National Office Abuja on Friday, 10th June, in the presence of party members.
The Twitter by Labour Party reads: “Mr. Peter Obi Receives Labour Party Certificate of Returns as its Presidential Candidate for 2023 presidential elections. Congratulations!!”
Obi emerged as the winner of the LP presidential primaries held on May 30 in Asaba, Delta State.
Ezenwafor, had, on Thursday, stepped down as the presidential candidate of the parallel faction.
In an interview with TheCable, INEC spokesman, Festus Okoye said the electoral umpire only recognises the presidential primary that produced Obi as the LP’s presidential candidate.
