2023 Presidency: I’m in the race to win — Akpabio

Former Akwa Ibom Governor Sen Godswill Akpabio on Saturday said he joined the presidential race under the All Progressives Congress (APC) to win the election in order to provide good governance in Nigeria.

Sen. Akpabio, former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs while addressing APC delegates in Enugu State expressed confidence that he will win the forthcoming delegate‘s election to consolidate the present administration’s achievement if elected as the President of Nigeria.

In his words, “we have only two Presidential aspirants in APC and they are Akpabio and others because I am not only in the race but in the race to win and I have faith that I will win because Godswill will be done in 2023.

“I will not disappoint Nigerians and I will not disappoint the people of South-East because I can’t disappoint my In-laws as you all can see that my wife who is from South East has never experienced any disappointment

“Today, I present myself to you as a detribalised leader who loves Nigeria and is ready to carry everybody along with irrespective of religion and ethnic differences,” he said.

He assured to tackle the security situation in Nigeria and South East if elected as President in 2023 saying “ I know the pains of the people of South East and we are ready to address all the injustice that has led to the agitation in the region.

“As of today South-South is the safest region due to our commitments to make the people happy and we will repeat what we did in South-South also in South East by assuring that Justice is done in this region.

Sen Akpabio who also assured to improve the economy and create jobs for teeming youth said, “Our youths are engaged in all forms of criminal activities today due to a lack of jobs but I want to assure that job creation will be done as we are here to deliver good governance to the people.

“I want to assure you that I will provide infrastructures and fulfil all our promises. I will not promise and fail as I will work with all Nigerians to develop Nigeria,” he added.
