Three members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly on Wednesday, escaped assassination along the Akwanga-Lafia Highway.

They were on their way from a burial ceremony at about 10 a.m when they came under heavy gun attack.

The lawmakers include, Hon Samuel Tsebe (APC- Akwanga South), Hon David Maiyaki (APC- Karu/Gitata) and Hon Peter Akwanga PDP- Obi 1

According to reports, the gun target was on the vehicle of Hon Tsebe as Hon Akwe was in his car ahead followed by Hon Maiyaki, who was also in his car.

Hon Tsebe was coming behind in his car when the assassins shot at his car.

The lawmakers, however, escaped the attack and are unharmed.

This is one of the cases that have been recorded in recent days as the security situation in Nigeria continues to deteriorate.

Recall that on Sunday, Captain Abdulkareem Na’Allah, a civil pilot and son of Kebbi’s Senator Bala Na’Allah, was strangled and found dead inside his bedroom at his Government Reserved Area (GRA) residence in Malali, Kaduna North Local Government Area of Kaduna State. His killers were reported to have gained entry into the house through the ceiling of the house.

In July, gunmen killed a Nigerian army general, Hassan Ahmed, as he was travelling by car on along the Lokoja-Abuja road from the capital, Abuja.
