Nollywood has been thrown into mourning again a few hours after the demise of veteran actor, Saint Obi.
Yoruba actor, Murphy Afolabi, has been reported dead following a home accident.
The actor was reported to have slipped in his home and died. He had celebrated his 49th birthday a few days ago on May 5th, 2023.
His colleagues have taken to their social media pages to mourn their friend.
Actor Damola Olatunji talked about how they had rejoiced with him on his last birthday.
“Murphy, but why? we all celebrated your birthday on the 5th of May, not knowing it was you saying goodbye.
Vanity upon vanity-everything we do is ‘vanity’: empty, futile, and short-lived. It doesn’t matter if you’re wise or a fool, ultimately, because everyone ends up dying. Rest on bruv. Sunnnre ooo.”
Actress Yinka Solomon referred to the day as a black Sunday. She stated that another filmmaker had died today too. Although she didn’t disclose the identity of the filmmaker, many in the comment section stated that he was a crew member.
She wrote, “Haaaaaa 2 people in Nollywood Yah Allah. It’s a black Sunday. We belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.”
He’s known for his funny mispronunciation and intonation of some words because of his state of origin.
