Golden Globe Award winner, William Bradley Pitt, has been granted joint custody of his children with his estranged wife, Angelina Jolie, after a long court battle which lasted for years.

Pitt has been fighting his estranged wife, Jolie, for nearly five years for equal rights to their six kids.

The maleficent actress and the actor were together for 12 years before Jolie filed for divorce in 2016. Since then, Jolie has been strong-willed about the custody of their six children.

However, the court was in favour of Brad Pitt as the long battle finally comes to an end, with Pitt gaining joint custody of their children.

Brad Pitt was formerly married to ‘Friends’ star, Jennifer Aniston.

A source from the court said it was a “tentative decision,” adding that Jolie is continuing her legal fight.

The private Judge in charge, Judge John Ouderkirk, finalised the proceedings after a long interview with witnesses, including child services professionals who interviewed the Jolie-Pitt children and others who have been around the family.

“There was a significant change made in the custody agreements based on an extremely detailed decision made by the judge,” a source told Page Six.

“Brad was just trying to have more time with his kids — and it has been clear that Angie has done everything possible to prevent this.”

“This trial lasted for several months and there were a ton of witnesses, experts, therapists and other people who have been with the kids and around them, and the decision was based on this,” the source added.

According to another source, “Joint custody is not the issue that Angelina objects to, there were other issues of concern, but the court proceedings are closed and sealed.”
