American actor, Jay Pickett, has been reported dead at the age of 60.
He died while filming a movie in Idaho.
His film director, Travis Mills, took to his social media to announce the passing on Sunday, August 1.
According to the reports, the “General Hospital” actor died on Friday, July 30, 2021.
Travis Mills stated that all efforts to resuscitate him were to no avail. No cause of death is still certain yet.
“There is no official explanation for the cause of his death but it appears to have been a heart attack.
“Everyone present tried as hard as they could to keep him alive. Our hearts are broken and we grieve for his family who are so devastated by this shocking tragedy,” he said.
He was born on February 10, 1961 in Spokane, Wash. Pickett was married to Elena Pickett, they have three children.
He is best known for roles he played in “Rags to Riches”, “China Beach”, “Port Charles”, “General Hospital” and shows like “Queen Sugar”, “Desperate Housewives”, and “NCIS: Los Angeles”.
The official Facebook page of Pickett’s work “Treasure Valley” also announced his death on Sunday.
