American singer and actress, Jennifer Lopez, have married her lover, Ben Affleck, in Las Vegas.
The actress released a statement signed to Mrs Jennifer Lynn Affleck on her website. In the statement, she narrated how the wedding took place.
In a lengthy note, Jennifer, who had announced her engagement in April when she showed a green ring in one of her posts, said their wedding was held in Las Vegas.
According to the spirited singer, she and her now husband, Ben, were in line with other couples who were there to get wedded in the Las Vegas Chapel and to receive their license.
She wrote, “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is Kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.
“Exactly what we wanted. Last night, we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world.
“Behind us two men held hands and held each other, in front of us, a young couple who made the three hour drive from Victorville on their daughter’s second birthday- all of us wanting the same thing.
“For the world to recognise us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage… ”
Jennifer said they had almost missed time given but they had allowed them some minutes for pictures to be taken. She also stated that she wore a dress from an old movie and a jacket from her husband’s closet.
The duo had been dating in July 2002 and got engaged in Nov. 2002. The engagement had lasted till January 2004 after they had postponed their wedding months before January.
They called their engagement off in January and Jennifer had quickly moved and had gotten married the same year to an actor, Marc Anthony, who she had two children with.
The marriage was called off ten years later. Ben had also gotten married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018. The marriage gave them three children.
Jennifer has been married three times before Ben. Her first marriage was in 1997 to Ojani Noa. It ended the following year. She got married to Cris Judd in 2001, ending in 2003. She lasted ten years with Marc Anthony, got engaged to Alex Rodriguez before the duo called it off in 2021.
