The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Friday reinstated Chijioke Edeoga as the authentic gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in Enugu State.
Justice Evelyn Maha of the Federal High Court, Abuja had set aside Edeoga’s nomination consequent to a suit by Everest Nnaji who claimed that he was excluded from the primary election.
However, in its judgement, the Appeal Court set aside the earlier judgment and affirmed Edeoga as the true candidate of the party.
Confirming the court ruling on Friday, the Enugu State Labour Party, LP Chairman, Barrister Casmier Agbo gave God glory for the victory.
“Court of Appeal affirms the candidacy of Rt Hon Chijioke Edeoga. Told the Federal High court that it had no jurisdiction. Glory be to God,” he said in a message.
The Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will hold on Saturday 11th March 2023.
