A Military Lieutenant, Babakaka Shehu Ngorgi, the Agjutant Officer (A.O) of 21 Battalion, Bama, Borno State, has been killed by a junior colleague.

KaftanPost gathered from a reliable source – a junior officer within the battalion, who requested anonymity, that the said lieutenant had the habit of treating the officials under him with little or no regard for their feelings.

The deceased was said to have the habit of shouting at them and most times refused to give them pass to travel for family visits.

The incident, according to the source, happened in the early hour of Wednesday, July 29, 2020 during scanning at 21 Brigade, Bama, Borno State.

The junior officer, Muhammed, went to meet his superior to share his problems with him and while talking, the deceased had a call and instead of attending to the junior officer, he chose to value the call more than the issue bothering the young officer. As he turned his back on the junior officer to answer his call, officer Muhammed got enraged and shot at him four times from the back.

Other young soldiers around attempted taking the lieutenant to the Military clinic but it was discovered that he died instantly.

It was learnt that Muhammed was immediately arrested and detained in the Military Cell.

The fight against Boko Haram in the Northeast has lingered for years with several issues surrounding the success and failure of the Nigerian Army in winning the war.

Recently, the National Assembly has passed a vote of no confidence on the Service Chiefs, calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to sack them for the reorganization of the Nigerian Army.
