The presidential candidate of the Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has suspended a rescheduled campaign rally in Rivers state.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Chairman, Rivers PDP Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Lee Maeba, it was disclosed that the rally scheduled for Tuesday would no longer hold.

“The expected victory of Atiku Abubakar is not worth the blood of any Rivers man or woman,” he noted.

The Rivers PDP-PCC had postponed a campaign rally earlier scheduled for February 11, to Tuesday, February 14th.

While the Rivers State Government had reapproved the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium for the rally, the campaign council rejected the offer, describing it a “Greek gift” because it was not officially communicated to the Director-General of Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal.
