Badminton: Adesokan maps out strategies to reach 2020 Olympics

Africa and Nigeria’s top female badminton player,  Dorcas Adesokan has device   strategies she hopes to put  in place in order to ensure she picks one of the  ticket to the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. 

While taking an overview of her exploits in the past year, Adesokan opines that she needs to re-double  her efforts in order to make more marks that would make her eligible for the Olympics.

Adesokan reckoned that it means she will have to step up her training and attend more competitions, in order to be in top form all through this year, to culminate in a ticket to Tokyo 2020.

Adesokan said she was named Africa’s best player because she won gold medals at international events in Cote D’Ivoire , Zambia and South Africa as well as the National Badminton Championships in Kastina and Lagos, plus the National Sports Festival and Governor Wike Championship.

The Ogun state-born player added: “The year 2018 was wonderful and the best of all.

“I was crowned the best player in Africa because I won three Africa Championships in a row.

“I want to participate in all the available tournaments this year (so that I can) wear the colours of Nigeria at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.” She concluded .
