Big Brother Naija’s host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, has defended the show against critics who frowned against the new premiere of another show.
The organisers had announced that there will be another reality TV series, BBTitans, which will consist of Nigerian and South African housemates.
The show is slated to start in January 2023 and will end in April.
Netizens felt the show is a distraction to the general elections to be held in February till March.
In reaction to this, Ebuka in a post, stated that the reality TV is not going to distract Nigerian Youths from voting their right in the coming elections.
He wrote, “I believe that we can focus on multiple things at the same time.
“I believe young Nigerians are complex enough that they can watch something when they want to, and go out to vote when they should. I don’t agree that anything can distract you when it’s time to perform certain duties.
“People are ready to vote, people have their PVC they can go out and vote when it’s time to vote it shouldn’t stop the world, it doesn’t happen anywhere.”
