Africa’s biggest reality TV show, Big Brother Naija, has announced the date for its sixth season.
The organizers of the show have picked next Saturday, July 24, 2021 as their launch date.
The announcement was made today, Monday, July 19, 2021.
Multichoice Customer Officer, Martin Mabudu, broke the news on Monday during a press briefing with journalists.
According to him, this year’s edition of the reality show will run for 72 days and end on October 3, 2021.
They also revealed that people in the diaspora will be able to watch via the web and app, so SMS voting has been cancelled for this season.
The winner of this season will be going home with N90 million, N5 million higher than that of last year. The list of prizes have not been revealed.
Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, said: “With each season of BBNaija we task ourselves on delivering great content that will take the excitement a notch higher and meet the entertainment needs of our customers.
“For this sixth season, we are pulling all the stops to give our customers a show like never seen before from Nigeria with end-to-end production best practices under global health and safety standards.”
The organisers also posted the news on their Instagram page.
It reads: “The BBNaija Launch Weekend starts this Saturday, July 24th! Omo, it’s time for team no sleep to gather.
“The drama, fun, suspense and romance will be live 24/7 on @dstvnigeria CH 198 and @gotvng CH 29. See you at 19:00”.
