Broadcaster, Abiodun Oropo, dies

Popular Radio broadcaster, Abiodun Oropo, also known as Oyinomo Joojo, has died aged 79, following a brief illness.

The Osun bred was reported to have died on Saturday, July 9, at a private office in Ogba Soye road, along Abeokuta road, Ijebu Ode in Ogun state.

The broadcaster’s health was said to have deteriorated badly in a few days and he had surrendered on Saturday.

His death was announced by Oyinlomo RadioTV on their Facebook.

It reads, “We lost Alhaji Abiodun Oropo Oyinlomo yesterday evening 09.06.2022.

“May his gentle soul Rest in Peace.”

He was a host and a part of a popular show on Faaji FM on Saturdays. Also a highly influential music entrepreneur.

Oropo was also one of Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde’s promoters.

He is best known for his contribution to a song ‘Board Members’ by legend Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi.

Oropo hails from Iwo, in Osun State and was born in 1943.

His impact in different generations of music, broadcasting and entertainment is broadless.

He ruled the entertainment world alongside Babs Animashaun, Bisi Ajala, Bode Osinusi and many others.
