Burna Boy nominated for 2021 BRIT Award

Grammy winner and Afrofusion singer, Burna Boy, has been nominated for the 41st BRIT Awards for ‘International Male Solo Artist’ category for album ‘Twice As Tall’.

This is following the singer’s Grammy Award two weeks ago for his album ‘Twice As Tall’, and makes it the artist’s second BRIT Nomination.

Burna Boy was nominated last year for the same category for his 2019 Album, ‘African Giant’ but lost to American singer, Tyler The Creator.

The Organizers of BRIT Awards, which is also like the British version of American’s Grammy Awards, released their full list of nominees on Wednesday, March 30, 2021 on their Twitter account.

According to the organizers, the award will be live on ITV and WeAreSTV on May 11, 2021.

Other nominees of the same category as Burna Boy are; Music Icon Bruce Springsteen, American singer Donald Glover, Music Producer Tame Impala and Canadian singer The Weeknd.

The ‘Way Too Big’ singer has emerged as one of African’s best singers with wins like the most recent and biggest, Grammy Award for ‘Best Global Music Category’, his award for ‘Best International Act’ for the Black Entertainment (BET) Awards, ‘Best African Act’ for The MTV European Music Awards (EMA) and others.

Burna Boy was recently hosted by the Rivers State Government in celebration of his Grammy Award and was gifted with land, money and a state award.
