Comedian Joshua Sunday known as De General has been convicted of drug trafficking.

The skit maker, who was arrested at his home by the NDLEA officials on Wednesday, January 12, of possession of drugs like tramadol and cannabis, has finally been found guilty by a Judge, Daniel Osiagor of a Federal High Court in Lagos.

De General was arraigned alongside a cinematographer, Caleb William.

The charges which were considered minimal were convicted and cautioned instead of giving them a sentence.

According to NAN reports, Justice Osiagor had convicted De General and the cinematographer, William and warned them to “go and sin no more”.

Their defense lawyer, Lilian Omotunde, represented both defendants, who were charged with three counts of trafficking Tramadol and Cannabis Sativa. They pleaded guilty.

They both claimed that the drugs found were meant to be used for a skit and they never tasted them.

The offence contravenes the provision of Section 11(c) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation, 2004.
