COVID-19: Another record tally, one more death herald the big numbers phase

For the third successive day, Nigeria’s daily coronavirus figures bettered the previous.

With 35 confirmed cases on Thursday, the country surpassed its existing record highest daily tally of 34.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed this via a tweet at about 10:15pm.

Nigeria’s epicentre, Lagos, again maintain its invisibility status with 19 new cases.

The Federal Capital Territory made a groundbreaking return after a two-day absence with nine.

Kano and Oyo States were well represented with five and two cases respectively.

The NCDC also announced one fatality, taking the death toll to 13.

There were 24 recoveries from the virus, totalling 152.

Overall, the country now have 442 confirmed cases.

I am thinking that the NCDC should have a space for mentioning the specific place those new infections are coming from. e.g Abuja 9 case: Asokoro, Nyanya, Mpape, Villa,..that is the only way people will stay at home. Just saying Abuja, Lagos Osun is vague. If you say 3 cases in Agege Area of Lagos…ahh..the Agege people will lock themselves indoors..because the number of new infections is not encouraging.
