Covid-19: Lagos tops as Nigeria records 159 new cases, one death

Nigeria, on Thursday, recorded 159 new coronavirus cases with Lagos accounting for the bulk of the fresh infections.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Lagos reported 119 new cases.

But the health agency noted that the figures were for Wednesday, July 14th, not Thursday.

Other states with new cases include Akwa Ibom (19), Rivers (11), Ogun (5), Ekiti (2) while FCT, Kwara, and Delta had one each.

With the new figures, the country’s confirmed cases is currently 169,074 albeit only 4,412 are active.

The NCDC, however, announced that one person died of the contagion in the last 24 hours, taking the nation’s fatality to 2,126.
