COVID-19: Nigeria records 542 new infections, 681 discharged and 23 deaths

Nigeria on Monday recorded 542 fresh COVID-19 cases.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which disclosed this on its Twitter handle, said the new COVID-19 cases were recorded in 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

It added that the number of COVID-19 fatalities in Nigeria stood at 1,862 as of Monday night.

Also, the total number of confirmed cases increased to 152,616.

However, Nigeria has recorded 129,300 recoveries since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country last year.

The breakdown of the figure on a state-by-state basis revealed the following: Lagos (99), Kwara (91), Ebonyi (48), Ogun (44), Kaduna (42), Oyo (33), Ondo (25), FCT (24), Kebbi (23), Osun (20), and Ekiti (17).

Others are – Nasarawa (12), Imo (11), Delta (10), Gombe (9), Kano (8), Katsina (7), Rivers (7), Edo (5), Plateau (4), and Bauchi (3).

“Discharged: 129,300 AND Deaths: 1,862.”
