Afrobeat singer, Mayorkun, has revealed that the governor of Cross River, Bassey Otu, has promised to compensate him over his stolen jewellery.
Recall that following the 2023 Calabar Carnival, Mayorkun in a post had revealed that his jewellery was stolen.
He stated that he would not be performing in Cross River again because of the theft saga. He noted how the jewellery is very important to him.
In a new post on his X page, Mayorkun has revealed that he recently met with the governor of the state who had promised to compensate him.
He said the governor assured him that the people of Cross River are hospitable.
The post read, “Just met with the Governor of Cross River State, H.E Prince Bassey Otu. He assured me that Calabar people remain very hospitable and he has also stressed that I will be compensated for my valuables lost.
“Thank you sir. Still searching for my pendant. It’s so special to me for many reasons.”
This is coming after Iyanya revealed that one of the jewellery has been found and returned to Mayorkun.
