Former governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, has hailed the Police for the peaceful conduct of the governorship poll.

Mr Oshiomhole made this known after casting his vote on Saturday in Iyamho, Etsako West Local Government Area.

“Police have done Nigeria proud I’m very impressed,” he told newsmen.

“So far so good police have provided security. Contrary to reports, people are not fighting.”

The ex-All Progressives Congress national chairman, however, critcized the Independent National Electoral Commission over the failure of card readers.

He said, “The only downside is INEC.

“We have security, we have peaceful youth even we old men. I just hope INEC does its part. Card readers are rejecting legitimate cards.”

Although 14 political parties are in the governorship race, observers say the battle is primarily between Ize-Iyamu of the APC and the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki.
