Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, says that he is not above the law, noting that joining the All Progressives Congress (APC) does not give him immunity from being investigated.

Fani-Kayode stated this today following his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Lagos yesterday.

The former re-joined the APC in September after criticising the party and the Buhari administration.

“I pity those that said I was arrested. They are filled with hate & live on fake news. Since when did an invitation & a friendly chat become an arrest?” Fani-Kayode asked in an Instagram post.

“And even if I had been arrested, SO WHAT? I am not above the law & neither does joining APC give me immunity. My God is MIGHTY!” he added.

The ex-minister, who was granted bail on self-recognition, was reportedly queried over a medical report which he allegedly procured to evade his trial before a Federal High Court in Lagos.

The medical report was reportedly presented before Justice Daniel Osiagor of the Federal High Court, Lagos on October 13 when Fani-Kayode was supposed to be re-arraigned.
