Contrary to speculation, Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State isn’t in an intensive care unit at a Lagos hospital, according to KAFTANPost finding.

An ICU is reserved exclusively for patients whose medical conditions have worsened, with survival chance in the balance, similar to the case of UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Mr el-Rufai, though, tested positive on March 28, remained that way even after the stipulated 14 days isolation period, his condition, however, hasn’t deteriorated to warrant an ICU.

The ex-Minister of the Federal Capital Territory is stable and in good condition.

This has become even more glaring  after the governor took out time from quarantine to attend a virtual meeting on Monday.

Mr el-Rufai took to Twitter to share pictures of the meeting of State Standing Committee on Covid-19, chaired by Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe.

He wrote: “Earlier today, I took 2 hours out of isolation to attend the daily virtual meeting of State Standing Committee on Covid-19, chaired by Deputy Governor @DrHadizaBalarabe. Since there is fake news circulating that I am in ICU in Lagos, an ICU picture will help! NAE.”

El-Rufai had last week debunked rumours that he had tested negative for COVID-19.

The governor, however, assured he was getting adequate care.

Aside the ex-FCT Minister, there’s been five other confirmed cases in Kaduna.
