After losing out to Eyitayo Jegede in the gubernatorial primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, embattled Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi look set to dump the PDP for the Zenith Labour Party to realize his governorship ambition.

And his plan to defect to the ZLP KaftanPost learnt, has received the approval of some leaders of thoughts and various political stakeholders (in the opposition camp) both within and outside the state, after series of meetings he held with them, following his loss in the PDP.

Although the ZLP had already chosen its candidate in the election slated for October 10, trusted chieftain of the party confided in KaftanPost that Ajayi would most likely fly the ZLP flag during the election.

According to the source: “Although the party, in its July 11 convention, held in Akure, already picked Jairos Olarotimi Benjamin as its flag bearer, the party however has a chance to substitute the candidate’s name until August 8 as approved by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).”

Confirming these speculations, the media Adviser to Agboola Ajayi, Mr. Allen Sowore, in a telephone conversation with KaftanPost correspondent opined that the Deputy Governor is yet to come out public on any move for defection for now as he is still widely consulting all the stakeholders within and outside the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), where he recently contested the gubernatorial primary.

Meanwhile, Ajayi who is presently in a meeting as at the time of filing this report is consulting with some Political bigwigs in Abuja.
